Weird Stuff

The Lights Over Phoenix web site is pretty interesting. Supposedly the creators of the site are attempting to re-enact the events in 1997 when approximately 9 strange lights appeared over Phoenix, Arizona and then traveled some 300 miles or so. There's well documented footage of the occurrence, and the military said that it was only just some flares that they had set off, but as usual, a ton of folks didn't buy that story. So here it is, five years later going on six and the Phoenix lights are still a mystery...until now. Woo. Only thing that bothers me about this site is how no new info or action has taken place since February of this year, according to the news section. Plus it all just smacks of some kind of overhyped Blair Witch nonsense. They keep teasing the visitors on the page, claiming that can't give away all the "evidence" just yet...well, it's been months now and still nothing. Smells of poopy to me.

Speaking of the Blair Witch, I detested the very first movie, couldn't have been bored more and thought it sucked ass. But enough of that worn out debate. I enjoyed the second flick because it was just a goofy gory Hollywood scary movie, which seemed a lot more palatable than the bullshit pile the first one was. After it tanked, though, it seemed liked the third one wasn't going to be made. It was going to be a prequel from what I read in past postings online, but now here is The Official Blair Witch 3 site. Doesn't really look like a prequel. It's hard to say what it looks like, or if the goddamn thing has even been completed or whatnot. There's a preview that opens the site, along with all sorts of new evidence files and whatnot to go along with the new flick. This third installment was originally supposed to have come out this year, but it looks like any remaining fans will have to wait till later. Seems like it just might be best if it went straight to video.
