Fan mail for Danny Wood and Second Face!

Got these disgruntled emails today from a pair of still-clinging NKOTB fans in regards to the Danny Wood review I ran here in the blog recently. Ladies, if you're going to poke through these blurbs, then by all means have a dig through Echo From Esoterica itself.

This is about as funny as when the Majandra Delfino fans went apeshit over my review for her lousy album The Sicks a while back.

Subject: The Review That Got Away.....

I just had to comment about your review....

Unfortunately it is people like you that cause problems for wonderful artists....

Just because you may not like a certain type of music or artist, doesn't make them any less of an artist. You know the guys from the New Kids were dogged on when they were selling millions of albums, and selling out arenas worldwide. They didn't get the respect they deserved then and now that they are trying to further their careers, they get the "new kids" stigma thrown in their faces. I would be willing to bet, that if these guys came out with their solo projects under false names and without photos, they would be taken alot more seriously in the music industry.

It is a shame that these guys must continue to face the discrimination they received as New Kids. And what is worse, is they have to try harder than ever to prove themselves to idiots like you that won't give them a chance just because of who they once were.

Donnie has made a successful crossover into acting, but it took him several years to prove himself and get away from the stigma of the past.....

Joe has made 3 successful cd's and is now crossing over into acting.....

Jordan has released one successful solo album and is preparing to release a 2nd....

Jon is successful in real estate......

And Danny is releasing his first solo album....

Yet there are many people that continue to dog on them and their efforts, and I am one fan that is sick and tired of it..... And before you make any comments about this 1 fan.... just know that there are thousands more just like me.....

But I guess people like you that live in their own little demented world wouldn't know about the rest of it.........

Subject: Review comment

Just wanted to chime in on your review of Danny Wood's new cd "Second Face". You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, but I get the feeling you were one of those "I hated the New Kids when they were around the 1st time, so I'm NEVER going to give them a chance with anything solo." You even made a comment about Donnie Wahlberg, who seems to be going places with this acting career. You may THINK that it was never about the music with these guys, but you would be wrong. I understand not liking someones music, but how can you shoot someone down that you do not know, and have not dealt with? You know NOTHING about the song "Home" which was written about his mother who died of breast cancer in 1999. The catty comments just sound like a guy who must have hated how all of the girls loved NKOTB. LOL! Oh well! Maybe you're right. Maybe we will be the only ones to buy the cd, but I for one am really glad to have the opportunity to hear the cd. I love his new music! And I hope that some other people in the industry will listen to it and give it a chance, without the NKOTB stigma that appearantly will never die. Let it go! geez!
