New Tunes from Yours Truly
OK, so I have a couple things to report. The first is that I found a pretty cool old tape from a few years back that I recorded for release but never did. It features just me on my acoustic guitar working through some old chestnuts and tossing in a couple new ones. Don't know why I never "did it ip" and made it official, but I listened to it and really enjoyed it so I am now going to issue it on Li'l Baz.
Secondly, I've begun work on my first "serious" long-form experimental album. For those of you who have heard the Bent Choice stuff on soundclick, you'll know I've been dabbling with this kind of thing for a little while now. Although, truth be told, the Bent Choice material was a one-off joke and wasn't anything I was truly serious about. Whether or not this new stuff will be regarded any higher is unknown, but I'm enjoying the recording process so far and I at least think it will be enjoyable to those who don't necessarily need music and beats to enjoy a recording.
So to sum up, two new recordings (so far) for this year. One for those who like melodies and music, the other for those who want to go insane. :) Should be fun for all.

Dorks of the Day
Awww yeah. You know these dudes are down with it. Give 'em a dollar and maybe they'll go away.
More Fan Mail for Danny Wood and that Second Face disaster.
Wow kids. You should've told me to review such bad albums as Second Face a long time ago. I've gotten such a big response for the review, and all because I stuck it in the Blog for Chrissakes. Again, all you old NKOTB fans, please go have a look at the rest of Echo From Esoterica and let me know what you think of my other fine opinions. I'm sure you'll find something in there to piss you off just as much. So keep hangin' tough, y'all. In the meantime, here's another email I got in response to my wretching over Mr. Wood's latest disc of horror.

Subject: Danny Wood new release review--ATTN Jason

Hey Jason, I just had one comment (like my comment matters...) about your Danny Wood CD review. First, with all the negative stigma that follows boy bands and his past group why would people like you give his work the time of day? Secondly, you spend time to write a review that took the whole page, that in your mind is a waste of time. So much of todays popular music sucks anyway. But it's nice as a consumer of today's music to have a choice in what I like, not take someone's opinion on the work. How incredibly nice of your to give Mr. Wood a review especially when there was no room in your "official section"--gee was that coincidence? Anyhow, you keep up with the great job and super supportive reviews. I for one will continue to listen to all three of his albums in my music library. Critics....... Awesome Job! Who's the next one to ridicule? MV

Seriously. You gotta love the fans who write in and think they're putting us critics down. The next one to ridicule? Why you, dearest Frank, you.
